How to use Sober Living Companion

Short, step-by-step walkthroughs to get your home set up and running. New to the app? Start with the first video β€” it covers signing in, adding houses, assigning managers, and viewing your residents.

1

Getting started: houses & residents

Sign in, add your houses, assign managers, set bed capacity, and view your residents by house.

This video demonstrates how to manage houses and residents within your account. You'll learn how to sign in, add houses, assign managers, and view clients by house selection. To get started, sign in using your username (your email address) and your password, and you'll be logged into your account. You can add houses by going to your settings and clicking β€œAdd a house.” After you add a house, you can add managers to that house, set its capacity and number of beds, and assign house managers. You can view all your clients: there's a master join code, and it will ask each resident which house they'd like to join. Once residents have joined, click a specific house to see its clients β€” or view everyone across all houses at once. In short: sign in, add houses, assign managers, and view residents by house to efficiently manage your account and client information.

Forms & agreements

Write or paste an agreement (like from Word), send agreements to e-sign, assign ready-made or custom forms, and store documents on each resident's file.

This video shows how to create, send, and manage forms and agreements digitally β€” from document delivery to client signing to organized storage in resident profiles. Want to create a form, or do you have a Word document you'd like clients to sign? Click the Forms tab, then Write Agreement, and paste an agreement you already have right into the text editor. Clients receive the document to sign, and it's saved with a timestamp and IP address for verification. On each resident's profile you'll also find Forms & Agreements β€” send documents to sign and forms to fill out in one place. Already have a house agreement? Tap Upload agreement, add a PDF or photo, name it, and send it. Your resident reviews and signs on their phone, and the signed copy appears with who signed and when. Signed items tuck behind a β€œView signed” button so the list stays clean, and signed paperwork is kept forever. For forms, tap Send a form and choose a ready-made template β€” intake, guest agreement, house rules β€” or build your own. Not using a template? Archive it to hide it, and restore it anytime from β€œView archived.” Fill out a form yourself or send it to the resident to complete and e-sign. At the bottom, the Documents section stores IDs, insurance, and any paperwork β€” tap β€œView documents” to browse. That's Forms & Agreements: paperless intake, signing, and storage in one place.

Payments & rent

Add CashApp & Zelle, connect Stripe for cards, set each resident's rent, and track who's paid.

Sober Living Companion offers residents multiple convenient payment methods to simplify rent collection. Set them up under Settings: add your CashApp tag and Zelle, then click Save. To take card and recurring payments, connect Stripe β€” already use Stripe for your business? Tap β€œI already have Stripe β€” connect it.” Next, set what each resident owes: on their profile, enter their monthly rent and due day. When someone pays you by cash or through the app, log it in a tap so their balance stays current. The Payments tab shows all the payments you've received for the month, who owes you, and lets you manage membership fees and record payments. In short: configure flexible payment options and manage resident fees efficiently β€” start simplifying your rent collection by setting up your payment methods today.

The resident's app

See what residents experience β€” sober-day tracking, meetings, signing forms, paying rent, and nightly reflection.

This video shows the key features residents access through the Sober Living Companion app β€” tools for motivation, meeting attendance, digital forms, payments, reflections, and communication with the house team. Here's exactly what your residents see after they enter the join code you shared. Front and center is their sober-day count β€” a daily dose of motivation. The Meetings tab lists AA, NA, SMART, and Dharma meetings, and AA online runs 24/7, so there's always one to join. They can check in at a meeting right from the app, which logs their attendance for your team to see. Any form or agreement you send appears here to review and e-sign β€” no paper, no printer. They pay rent and fees right from their phone with Stripe, CashApp, or Zelle. The Nightly Review helps them reflect at the end of each day, with an optional reminder they can set themselves. And Messages keeps them connected to your house team. That's the resident experience β€” free for every resident. Sign up your home at soberlivingcompanion.com.
