Sobriety Hub alternative: pricing and fit compared

On Sobriety Hub, or pricing it out? This page explains its published pricing, what it offers and who it suits, how it compares with Sober Living Companion on facts you can check, and how switching works. We make Sober Living Companion, so read with that in mind; Sobriety Hub does several things we don't, and we say which.

Published October 15, 2026. Sobriety Hub details and prices were checked on sobrietyhub.com on October 15, 2026; sources are linked.

Quick answer

Sobriety Hub is priced per staff user: $75 a month per full staff user ($65 on annual billing), $25 per client-manager user ($20 on annual billing), free resident users, and a one-time $250 onboarding fee, with no free trial (as listed on its website in October 2026). One alternative is Sober Living Companion, at one flat $60 a month per organization with unlimited houses, residents and managers, no setup fee, a free resident app on iPhone and Android, and a free import of your data. Sobriety Hub may still fit you better if you want direct messaging and house group chats in the resident app, done-for-you onboarding meetings, or a vendor that states HIPAA compliance.

From Their Website

What Sobriety Hub offers

Sobriety Hub says it is “purpose built from the ground up specifically for sober living owners and managers,” with customers “ranging from less than 10 beds to 450+ beds,” and that its team currently operates Dutton House Sober Living in Austin, Texas. Everything below is as listed on their website in October 2026, checked on October 15, 2026.

  • Residents and houses: a timeline of each resident's UAs, meetings, notes and milestones; infractions, overnight passes, chores, medications and legal history; plus maintenance requests, bed management and room assignments. (features page ↗)
  • Payments: credit, debit or ACH through a Stripe connected account, automated invoicing, weekly or monthly autopay, and reminders by email, SMS and in-app notification. (payments page ↗)
  • Forms and outcomes: e-signed custom forms with conditional logic, or forms its team builds for you; an Insights module covering length of stay, discharges, relapse and readmission, and probation and parole outcomes.
  • Resident app: free for all Sobriety Hub customers, on iOS and Android. Residents pay fees, complete forms, log meetings (“Meeting Attendance with GPS Verification”), chores, check-ins and mood, and use direct messages and house group chats. (resident app page ↗)
  • Also listed: AI search across resident records, a public listing called Sobriety Hub Connect, audit trails, and support by text and email from a dedicated account manager.
  • Security: its FAQ says “Sobriety Hub Software is HIPAA compliant,” with data on an encrypted AWS database and a published Data Protection Addendum. (FAQ ↗)

Pricing

Sobriety Hub pricing, explained

Sobriety Hub publishes its prices, which makes a fair comparison easy. Its pricing page ↗ says it is “priced by how many staff or house managers you have,” with “no charge per bed, house or resident, and no long-term contract.” As listed on their website in October 2026:

  • Full staff user: $75 a month, or $65 a month paid annually ($780 a year). For owners, directors and anyone who needs outcomes, reports or billing.
  • Client-manager user: $25 a month, or $20 a month paid annually ($240 a year). For house managers. Its FAQ says a client manager manages one house and its current residents, with view-only forms and payments, and no outcomes or incoming and discharged residents.
  • Resident users: free.
  • Onboarding: a one-time $250 fee covering form building, migrating your resident data, payment setup and two onboarding meetings.
  • Processing fees: 3.9% per card payment and 1.2% per ACH payment, added to the resident's payment by default; operators can choose to absorb them.
  • Terms: month-to-month, cancel any time with no penalty. No free trial.
  • Larger accounts: enterprise pricing above 15 staff, and a Pro version at $200 a month that its FAQ says applies to “a small subset of advanced-usage customers.”

So the price does not change with beds or houses, only with staff logins.

Fair Fit

Who Sobriety Hub fits well

If Sobriety Hub is working for you and the bill makes sense, staying is a reasonable choice. Sobriety Hub may be the better fit if:

  • You want messaging in the resident app. Sobriety Hub lists direct messages and house group chats. Sober Living Companion has announcements to everyone in your organization, not direct messages or group chats.
  • You want onboarding done for you. The $250 fee covers building your forms, migrating your data and two onboarding meetings.
  • You need a vendor that states HIPAA compliance. Sobriety Hub's FAQ says it is HIPAA compliant. Sober Living Companion is not an EHR and makes no HIPAA compliance claim.
  • You have one staff login. One full user is $75 a month, or $65 on annual billing, close to our $60. At that size the real difference is the $250 onboarding fee.
  • You rely on features it lists such as maintenance requests, AI search or its Connect listing. Check anything you rely on in our demo before you decide.
Why Compare

Why operators look at Sobriety Hub alternatives

When operators compare Sobriety Hub with other software, a common question is how the published price grows with their team. Each point below follows from Sobriety Hub's own pricing page and FAQ.

  1. Each manager is a seat. Sobriety Hub's FAQ says that if different managers run different houses, “each manager would just have their own Client Manager account.” With Sober Living Companion, managers are free and unlimited, and you choose which houses each one sees.
  2. Seat types matter. Sobriety Hub's FAQ describes a client manager as covering one house, so by our reading a manager who covers two houses or handles intake would need a $75 full seat. Confirm with Sobriety Hub for your setup.
  3. Getting started. Sobriety Hub has a $250 onboarding fee and no free trial. We have no setup fee, and the first month is free with code FIRSTMONTHFREE.
  4. Processing fees. Sobriety Hub lists 3.9% for cards and 1.2% for ACH. With us, card payments run through your own Stripe account, we take no platform fee, and Stripe's standard fee applies (2.9% + 30¢ per domestic card payment, as listed on stripe.com in October 2026). The home absorbs it by default, or you can add it to the resident's card payment where your state allows card surcharges (never on debit cards). On an $800 card payment, 3.9% is $31.20 and 2.9% + 30¢ is $23.50; by ACH on Sobriety Hub, 1.2% is $9.60.

The Math

What the price difference looks like

Sobriety Hub prices as listed on its website in October 2026. Processing fees are left out of both sides.

One house, the owner is the only login

  • Sobriety Hub: $75 a month. Year one: (12 × $75) + $250 = $1,150, or $1,030 on annual billing.
  • Sober Living Companion: $60 a month. Year one: 12 × $60 = $720, or $660 with the first month free.

Two houses, an owner and two house managers

  • Sobriety Hub: $75 + (2 × $25) = $125 a month. Year one: (12 × $125) + $250 = $1,750, or $1,510 on annual billing ($105 a month).
  • Sober Living Companion: still $60 a month, $720 in year one.

Six houses, two directors and six house managers

  • Sobriety Hub: (2 × $75) + (6 × $25) = $300 a month. Year one: (12 × $300) + $250 = $3,850, or $3,250 on annual billing ($250 a month).
  • Sober Living Companion: still $60 a month, $720 in year one.

For a single-login home the gap is $15 a month plus the onboarding fee; it widens with every staff login. Redo the math with your own team using our pricing page and Sobriety Hub's.

Switching

How switching from Sobriety Hub works

Free white-glove migration: send us your export and we'll import your residents for you, often the same day.

  1. Export from Sobriety Hub. Its FAQ says “resident data, form submissions, and payment records can all be exported as CSV files.” Export all three, including discharged residents. The FAQ does not describe a bulk download of uploaded documents, so ask Sobriety Hub support how to get those files out.
  2. Send it to us. Email info@empowernextproject.org or call (916) 877-6237. A person goes through the files with you, and you can book a free onboarding call.
  3. We import it. Current residents go on your roster in the right house; discharged residents stay on record. Payment history comes over where your CSV includes it, and documents you download can be attached to each resident's record.
  4. Rebuild your forms. Send the agreements you use now. A PDF agreement can become a reusable e-signature template, and your intake questions become your online application link.
  5. Set up money. Connect a Stripe account you already have, or create one, so card payments go straight to you. Set each resident's weekly or monthly fee.
  6. Residents join. Each resident downloads the free app and enters the house join code or opens the join link.
  7. Check, then cancel. Compare the imported records with Sobriety Hub before you cancel.

A roster import is often done the same day; years of payment history or many houses take longer.

Before You Switch

What you keep, what changes, and what to check first

What comes with you

Residents, current and discharged, with houses, dates and contact details; payment history from your CSV; and documents you download. Anything not in an export does not move.

What changes

  • Saved cards and autopay do not transfer. Residents enter their card again in the new app.
  • Messaging becomes announcements. If your houses run on group chats or direct messages, plan another channel for those.
  • Outcome reporting restarts. Dates come over with your roster, but outcome questionnaires and follow-ups start when you enroll residents (a campaign can enroll everyone automatically). Download any Sobriety Hub reports you need for a grant first.

Checklist before you switch

  1. Export everything first and keep a copy offline.
  2. Check your billing. Sobriety Hub's FAQ says you can cancel any time with no penalty. If you paid annually, ask how the rest of the year is handled; the FAQ doesn't say.
  3. Overlap for a few weeks. The first month with us is free with code FIRSTMONTHFREE, so running both costs nothing on our side.
  4. Turn off Sobriety Hub autopay before the first rent date in the new app, so no resident is charged twice.
  5. Pick a start date and one house to go first, tell residents, and let that manager learn the app before the rest follow.
  6. Check privacy requirements. If a funder or your counsel requires a vendor HIPAA commitment, settle that before you move records.

FAQ

Sobriety Hub alternative: FAQ

What is the best alternative to Sobriety Hub?

It depends on what you run and how many staff log in. For peer-run sober living homes that want a flat price, Sober Living Companion is $60 a month for the whole organization with unlimited houses, residents and managers, no setup fee, a free resident app and a free data import. Oathtrack publishes per-bed pricing, and One Step Software does not publish prices; the 2026 comparison links each source. For clinical charting or insurance billing, look at an EHR such as Behave Health.

How much does Sobriety Hub cost?

As listed on its website in October 2026: $75 a month per full staff user ($65 a month paid annually), $25 a month per client-manager user ($20 paid annually), free resident users, and a one-time $250 onboarding fee. Card payments carry a 3.9% processing fee and ACH payments 1.2%. Teams with more than 15 staff can ask about enterprise pricing.

Is Sober Living Companion cheaper than Sobriety Hub?

On subscription price, yes, for any team with at least one full user (the owner), based on Sobriety Hub's published prices. One full user there is $75 a month ($65 on annual billing) plus the $250 onboarding fee, and each house manager adds $25 ($20 annually); Sober Living Companion is $60 for the whole organization. An owner and two house managers come to $1,750 in year one on Sobriety Hub's monthly billing, against $720 with us. Processing fees are separate on both. Price is not everything: Sobriety Hub's fee includes done-for-you onboarding, and its app has direct messaging, which ours does not.

Can I move my data from Sobriety Hub to Sober Living Companion?

Yes. Sobriety Hub's FAQ says resident data, form submissions and payment records can be exported as CSV. Send us those files and we import your residents for you, often the same day, at no charge. Documents you download as files can be attached to each resident's record. Call (916) 877-6237 or email info@empowernextproject.org.

Does Sober Living Companion have messaging like Sobriety Hub?

Not the same kind. Sober Living Companion lets staff post announcements to everyone in your organization, and residents get rent reminders as push notifications, but there are no direct messages or group chats. Sobriety Hub lists staff-to-resident and resident-to-resident direct messages and house group chats. If your houses depend on in-app chat, weigh that before switching.

Is Sober Living Companion HIPAA compliant?

We do not claim to be. Sober Living Companion is housing-operations software, not an EHR. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, staff see only what their role allows, and location is read only while the app is open: for check-ins, to confirm someone is still at a meeting they checked in to, and for nearby-meeting searches. It is never read in the background. Whether HIPAA applies to your home is a question for your counsel. Sobriety Hub's FAQ says it is HIPAA compliant; if your funder or counsel requires a vendor HIPAA commitment, ask each vendor for it in writing.
